Attorney Leonard Elected Chair of the NHBA Family Law Section

Attorney Leonard named chair of the New Hampshire Bar Association’s Family Law Section for the 2017-18 year.

Attorney Petar Leonard was recently elected the Chair of the NHBA Family Law Section.

Attorney Leonard will be serving with Attorney Albert Hansen, of Bosen & Associates, who was elected Vice Chair; and Cassandra Brown, of Brown, Bouchard, & Randall, who was elected to serve as the section’s Clerk.  The purpose of the section is to facilitate professional exchange and development in the area of family law through the very active family-law list serve; educational seminars; and social gatherings.  Examples of past event topics include the intersection between the family law and mental health industries, techniques for valuing businesses, and when and how to engage a forensic accountant.

Attorney Leonard is looking forward to an exciting year of new events, new venues, and new ideas for the 2017-18 season.

Attorney Krans Presents “Practicing Family Law on the Border of Massachusetts and New Hampshire” at MCLE Seminar

Attorney Krans presented on practicing family law on the Massachusetts and New Hampshire border.

On June 13, 2017, Heather E. Krans served on the faculty of an MCLE seminar in Boston. The seminar was entitled “Practicing Family Law on the Border of Massachusetts and New Hampshire.”  There, Heather presented on the topic of property division in divorce, modifications of family law orders, and domestic violence and other restraining orders.

Attorney Terri Pastori Presents to Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers

Attorney Pastori spoke on topics such as workplace discrimination & harassment.

On June 7, 2017, Terri L. Pastori presented on various employment law issues to members of the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers at its semi-annual conference on Critical Management Skills for CHC Managers and Supervisors at the Bostonian Hotel in Boston.  The conference is a two-day event for human resources professionals, managers, and supervisors.

Attorney Pastori engaged in an interactive training session on topics such as workplace discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. She also addressed disabilities, reasonable accommodations, and employee leaves that impact Massachusetts employers. The training also included topics like FMLA, the Massachusetts Parental Leave Act, the Massachusetts Earned Sick Time Law, and the Massachusetts Small Necessities Leave Act.  Attorney Pastori also highlighted a Massachusetts law that will go into effect on July 1, 2018 concerning pay equality.

This is the third time that Attorney Pastori has been invited to speak at the conference and work alongside Lisa Mouscher of Sogence, a nationally recognized trainer and consultant. She thanks the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers for inviting her to speak to its members.

Experienced litigator Elizabeth Mulholland joins Concord law firm Pastori | Krans

Accomplished attorney Elizabeth Mulholland is the firm’s new associate.

Elizabeth Mulholland is bringing her years of experience practicing law inside and out of the courtroom to Pastori Krans as the firm’s newest associate. Mulholland, a Concord resident, has spent the past decade working in the New Hampshire Public Defender’s Office and as an assistant attorney general with the New Hampshire Department of Justice.

Over her career, Mulholland has handled hundreds of cases while working in the Public Defender’s Office, including numerous bench and jury trials. In her capacity as an assistant attorney general with the New Hampshire Department of Justice, she focused on civil litigation, handling matters before administrative and regulatory boards and before state and federal courts.

“We are delighted that Elizabeth is joining the Pastori Krans team,” said Terri Pastori, partner. “With her broad background and litigation experience, she will bring new perspectives to our practice and increase our ability to serve clients in the areas of family law and employment law, which are our primary areas of focus.”

Mulholland earned her B.A. from the University of Minnesota where she majored in history and sociology. She earned her J.D. cum laude from Vermont Law School. As a law student, she served as a student ambassador and was the shareholder advocate for her graduating class. Mulholland has been a member of the New Hampshire Bar since 2007 and was admitted to the federal court bar in June 2015.

Outside of the courtroom, Mulholland has served as a mentor to those interested in a legal career. She was an intern coordinator for the civil bureau while at the Department of Justice, and worked closely with the University of New Hampshire School of Law to supervise the bureau’s semester interns as well as hiring and supervising summer interns. She is active in the community and serves as a trustee of the Concord Public Library. Mulholland is also a member of the Women’s Bar Association.
